Catalan C2: Diacritic accents · Words

Since the 2016 reform, only fifteen words keep a diacritic accent to tell them apart from words spelt alike: bé (well) / be (lamb), déu (god) / deu (ten), és (is) / es (himself), mà (hand) / ma (my), més (more) / mes (month), món (world) / mon (my), pèl (hair) / pel (by the), sé (I know) / se (himself), sí (yes) / si (if), sòl (ground) / sol (sun), són (they are) / son (sleep), té (has) / te (tea), ús (use) / us (you), vénen and véns (they come, you come) / venen and vens (they sell, you sell). The rest lost it: dona (gives) is now written like dona (woman), and os, net, adéu… no longer change.
