To add: a més, també. To contrast: tanmateix, no obstant això, en canvi, mentre que. To give a cause: perquè, ja que, com que (at the start), gràcies a (good), per culpa de (bad). To give a result: per això, així doncs, per tant. encara que takes the indicative for a fact and the subjunctive for a possibility or concession: Encara que plou, surto. Encara que plogui, sortiré.

• Plovia, per això ens vam quedar a casa. — It was raining, that’s why we stayed at home.
• A més, el preu és raonable. — Moreover, the price is reasonable.
