Catalan C2: Valencian & Balearic · Words
Catalan has a standard with room for its varieties. Valencian says eixir (sortir), xiquet (nen), espill (mirall), meló d’Alger (síndria), and has its own verb forms: jo pense, que jo cante, he cantat. Balearic says al·lot (noi), moix (gat), and uses the salat article: es cotxe, sa casa. Central Catalan, from Barcelona, is what most learners hear first: all are correct in their area.
