Catalan A2: Plans: the future · Grammar

The future adds -é, -às, -à, -em, -eu, -an to the infinitive: parlaré, menjaràs, dormirà. Irregular stems: anar → anir-, fer → far-, tenir → tindr-, venir → vindr-, poder → podr-, voler → voldr-, saber → sabr-. For near plans, Catalan often just uses the present: Demà vaig a la platja. The future also guesses about now: Serà a casa (he must be at home).

• prometre — to promise

• Què fas aquest cap de setmana? — What are you doing this weekend?
• Aniré a veure la meva tia. — I’ll go and see my aunt.
• Et trucaré més tard. — I’ll call you later.
• Potser vindré jo també. — Maybe I’ll come too.
