Catalan A2: How things were: the imperfet · Grammar

The imperfet describes the past: habits, how things were, what was going on. -ar verbs: -ava, -aves, -ava, -àvem, -àveu, -aven (parlava). -er and -ir verbs: -ia, -ies, -ia, -íem, -íeu, -ien (bevia, dormia). Irregular: ser → era, fer → feia, dir → deia, veure → veia, viure → vivia. Quan era petit, jugava al carrer.

• De petit vivia a Reus. — As a child I lived in Reus.

• Mentre cuinava, escoltava la ràdio. — While I was cooking I listened to the radio.
