Catalan C1: Combined weak pronouns · Grammar

Two weak pronouns together follow a fixed order and shape. Indirect + direct: me’l, te la, ens els, us ho. li + el, la, els, les becomes l’hi, la hi, els hi, les hi (Dona-li el llibre → Dona-l’hi). li + en → li’n (Li’n donaré dos). Reflexive + en → se’n, me’n, te’n (Me’n vaig, Se’n recorda). hi + en → n’hi (N’hi ha molts).

• me’n vaig — I’m leaving
• se’n recorda — he/she remembers it
• n’hi ha — there is/are some
• l’hi dono — I give it to him/her
• li’n dono — I give him/her some
• te’l presto — I’ll lend it to you
• anar-se’n — to leave, to go away
• adonar-se’n — to realise it

• Me’n vaig a casa. — I’m going home.
• Ja te’l tornaré. — I’ll give it back to you.
• No me n’havia adonat. — I hadn’t noticed.
• N’hi ha prou. — That’s enough.
