Catalan B1: Weak pronouns: el, la, li, en, hi · Words

Direct: el, la, els, les (El veig); before a vowel, l’ (L’he vist). Indirect: li, els (Li dono el llibre). en replaces de + something or a quantity (En vull dos). hi replaces a place or en/a + something (Hi vaig demà). After an infinitive or a positive command they join with a hyphen or an apostrophe: Vull veure-la, Dona-me’l. ho stands for an idea: No ho sé.

• Te’l deixo. — I’ll lend it to you.

• Hi anem? — Shall we go?
• No ho necessito. — I don’t need it.
