To concede: obwohl and the formal obgleich and wenngleich send the verb to the end; trotzdem and dennoch start a main clause; zwar … aber balances two facts. Conditions beyond wenn: falls (in case), sofern (provided that), es sei denn (unless), and conditions without wenn, verb first: Hätte ich Zeit, käme ich mit.

• Immerhin hat er sich entschuldigt. — At least he apologised.
• Ruf an, falls du dich verspätest. — Call if you’re going to be late.
