English B2: A report for the local paper

A festival has taken place in your town. Write a report for a local newspaper.

Last Saturday the town’s first international street festival took place in the market square. From ten in the morning until midnight, around 3,000 visitors celebrated together. The festival was organised by twelve local associations whose members come from more than twenty countries. Stalls offered food from Syria, Brazil, Poland and Vietnam, and dance and music groups performed on the main stage. The highlight was an evening concert in which musicians who had only met that morning played together. The audience danced until late into the night. The organisers were delighted with the result. According to the mayor, the festival will now be held every year. The only complaints were about the long queues at the food stalls.
