Spanish B1: The present subjunctive · Grammar
After wishes, requests, feelings and doubts with que, Spanish uses the subjunctive: Quiero que vengas. Es importante que lo sepas. Take the yo form of the present, drop -o, and swap the vowel: -ar verbs take -e (hable), -er and -ir verbs take -a (coma, viva). Irregular: ser → sea, ir → vaya, saber → sepa, haber → haya, estar → esté. ojalá and para que always take it.
