French C2: Slang & verlan · Words
Everyday French is full of familiar words: le boulot (work), la bagnole (car), le fric (money), bosser (to work), un mec / une nana (a guy / a girl), crevé (exhausted). Verlan swaps syllables: fou → ouf, femme → meuf, relou (lourd, annoying), chelou (louche, weird), vénère (énervé). Keep them for friends: in writing or at work, they sound out of place.
