French A1: Bonjour & être · Grammar

être (to be) is irregular: je suis, tu es, il/elle est, nous sommes, vous êtes, ils/elles sont. Use tu with friends and family, and vous with strangers or with more than one person.

• Comment ça va? — How are you?
• Ça va bien, merci. — I’m fine, thanks.
