Latin B1: Had done, will have done: pluperfect & future perfect · Grammar

Both are built on the perfect stem (amav-, fu-, vid-, cep-). The pluperfect adds the imperfect of esse: amaveram, amaveras, amaverat… (I had loved). The future perfect adds forms like the future of esse: amavero, amaveris, amaverit… (I will have loved). Latin is strict about time: Si hoc feceris, laetus ero (if you do this — literally, will have done it — I will be happy).
