Latin A2: Rex, regis: the third declension · Words
The third declension is the biggest. The subject can end in almost anything (rex, pater, homo, nomen), so learn each noun with its genitive, which shows the stem: rex, regis. On that stem: object -em (regem), of -is (regis), to -i (regi), by/with -e (rege); plural subject and object -es (reges). Neuter nouns keep their subject form as object: nomen, tempus, corpus.
