Verbs in -ar drop -ar and add -o, -as, -a, -amos, -am: falo, falas, fala, falamos, falam. For something happening right now, European Portuguese uses estar a + infinitive: Estou a trabalhar.

• morar — to live
• trabalhar — to work
• estudar — to study
• aprender — to learn
• hoje — today
• amanhã — tomorrow
• sempre — always

• Falo um pouco de português. — I speak a little Portuguese.
• Onde moras? — Where do you live?
• Hoje trabalho em casa. — Today I’m working from home.
• Estou a aprender português. — I’m learning Portuguese.
